Mercury Taxis fully recognise that all students from both of the Universities in our City - Sheffield Hallam & Sheffield University - play a huge role in keeping the economy of Sheffield going each and every year. As part of this we have a long standing commitment to assist in the transportation of the city's students each and every term, and indeed throughout the rest of the year. All of our 360 drivers are fully licensed by Sheffield City Council and each and everyone of them has undergone a full CRB check, as well as being fully insured & licensed to drive their private hire or hackney carriage vehicles. Our callback service is extremely popular with all students, leaving them safe in the knowledge that they are getting into the right vehicle at all times by virtue of our free courtesy callback service. (Shortly before your car arrives your phone - either your landline or your mobile - will ring twice to indicate that your car is waiting outside). Each and every year we are proud and very privileged to take part in the Annual Students Freshers Fair at the Octagon Centre where we give away thousands of pens, rulers, key rings, mouse mats, fridge magnets, beer mats, coasters, as well as thousands of business cards and leaflets. As a further part of this commitment we have produced a fixed price guide for all students to give an idea of any taxi fares/charges that may occur if you are catching a taxi from one popular student venue to another. These prices apply to four seater taxis only and are given as a 'rough' guide and some prices may vary slightly. Please note that Mercury Taxis can also provide black cabs/wheelchair access vehicles upon request, as well as a full range of mini-buses, estate cars and executive vehicles for that special occasion.
