Charity of the Year

Mercury Taxis (Sheffield) Limited are proud to announce that our nominated charity for the year 2011 is 'Get Kids Going!'.

Get Kids Going! is a National charity which gives disabled children and young people - up to the age of 26 years - the opportunity of participating in sport. The charity provides them with specially built sports' wheelchairs so they can particpate in such sports as athletics, marathons, tennis, skiing, rugby, sailing, boccia, basketball, sledge hockey, table tennis, fencing, shooting, archery, powerlifting and many more sports. Peter Holmes, Marketing Manager at Mercury Taxis, said "We are very proud to be involved with the 'Get Kids Going !' charity for the whole of 2011 and we sincerely hope that the people of Sheffield will get behind our efforts in raising not only as much money as we can but also in raising the general public's awareness of the charity and its profile in general".

To start off with one of our very own taxi drivers Alan Brumley from Intake in Sheffield, driver '32' as he is known to many of us, is aiming to complete not only the Sheffield half Marathon, but also the Berlin Marathon and the London Marathon this year. Alan and all of the staff in both Mercury Taxis Sheffield offices will be making ourselves very busy in helping him to raise as much money as possible in the next 12 months.
