Student Taxi Services

Each year 60,000 students arrive in Sheffield. This figure has been growing steadily each year and Mercury Taxis has grown with it. Our large fleet of 400+ vehicles meet the needs of all Sheffield University and Hallam University's students.

All of our drivers and fleet are fully licensed with Sheffield City Council and are CRB checked, so you can be sure of your safety. We also offer a FREE callback service so you know when your vehicle will arrive and that it is one of Mercury Taxis. Just ask for Callback- your phone will ring twice when the car is arriving.

Each and every year we are proud and very privileged to take part in the Annual Students Freshers Fair at the Octagon Centre where we give away thousands of; pens, rulers, key rings, mouse mats, fridge magnets, beer mats, coasters, T-Shirts, business cards and leaflets.

A large proportion of our clients are students and we are proud as a company to be able to facilitate a safe transportation service to get students from A to B. Be it the pub, train station or an exam, do not hesitate to call us first.

We are competitively priced and our prices do not change throughout the day or night. (except Christmas & New Year).

Our current prices for a 4-seater taxi are £3.80 for the first mile, then 70p per half-mile (waiting time is charged at 20p/min).

So for example, the popular journey - The Ranmoor Village/Endcliffe Village to Bar One is £4.50

We do however have a large selection of 5-seaters, estate cars and mini-buses, and we cater for wheelchair users with our 'London Style' Hackney Carriages.
